Outdoor Healing Intensive
In 2020, around 41.4 million adults in the United States received treatment or counseling for their mental health. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the percentage of adults getting mental health treatment increased from 19.2% in 2019 to 21.6% in 2021. With the increase of the number of people looking for therapists, there has been an increase in questions about how to start the process of finding the right therapist, questions to ask, and what the consumer needs to know.

Therapy Toolbox: Finding the Fit seeks to increase your confidence in finding a fit for who you are, what you need, and where you want to be. There are approximately 617,060 licensed mental health professionals in the United States. Finding the one that fits you best takes strategy, knowledge, patience, and a toolbox to support a successful consultation conversation with therapists.

Why Outdoors?
Because healing doesn’t live in your head alone.
When your feet meet the earth, your nervous system settles.
When you breathe near water, your body softens.
When you move through terrain, your beliefs begin to reorganize.
Nature is not a backdrop here.
It is part of the therapeutic process.

Who This Is For
This experience is for you if:
-
You are navigating grief, burnout, betrayal, or life transition.

-
You feel high-functioning but internally fragmented.

-
You are ready to reclaim your voice, boundaries, and clarity.

What We Work On
Over 3–4 concentrated days, we move through five core themes that shape how trauma and transition live in the body:

-
Safety – Can I feel at home in myself?

-
Trust – Can I rely on my inner knowing?

-
Power & Control – Where have I surrendered agency?

-
Esteem – What do I truly believe about my worth?

-
Intimacy – How do I connect without losing myself?

Each day integrates:
-
Guided outdoor experiences
-
Breathwork and somatic regulation
-
Yoga and mindful movement
-
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) reflection
-
Structured journaling
-
Small group processing (4–6 participants only)
-
Prepared outdoor lunches
-
Closing indoor integration dinner + ceremony

You do not leave emotionally flooded. You do not leave open-ended. You leave clearer.

What We Work On

BEGINNING FEBRUARY
Rest is Resistance:
A Manifesto
By Tricia Hersey
In Rest Is Resistance, Tricia Hersey, aka the Nap Bishop, casts an illuminating light on our troubled relationship with rest and how to imagine and dream our way to a future where rest is exalted. Our worth does not reside in how much we produce, especially not for a system that exploits and dehumanizes us. Rest, in its simplest form, becomes an act of resistance and a reclaiming of power because it asserts our most basic humanity. We are enough. The systems cannot have us.

Rest Is Resistance is rooted in spiritual energy and centered in Black liberation, womanism, somatics, and Afrofuturism. With captivating storytelling and practical advice, all delivered in Hersey’s lyrical voice and informed by her deep experience in theology, activism, and performance art, Rest Is Resistance is a call to action, a battle cry, a field guide, and a manifesto for all of us who are sleep deprived, searching for justice, and longing to be liberated from the oppressive grip of Grind Culture.

The FlipPage Squad will read or use an audiobook to listen to Rest is Resistance. It is through weekly one-hour discussions, handouts, and rest-directed activities we will explore how we have learned to grind, what it would look like to rest, and build a practice of resting while supporting others to do the same.
Meetings will begin Wednesday, February 8th and will take place weekly via a secure link with video capability. Each week will be a 60-minute discussion session.
